Report of Workshop on “Qualitative Vs Quantitative Research Methodologies”
Research and Extension Lecture Committee of DPG degree college, Gurugramhas successfully organized a Oneday Workshop on “Qualitative Vs Quantitative Research Methodologies”, on 20TH august 2022. More than 60 participated for the workshop.
The workshop witnessed the gracious presence of our highly regarded dignities Shri Deepak Gehlot, Registrar Shri Ashok Gogia, Principal Dr S S Boken and started with a welcoming speech by Dr Priya shukla (HOD, Department of Arts), where she discussed that this workshop will promote research among all the active participants in the Workshop
Then,Dr. Amita Singh convenor, Research committee told about the main area of discussion on was characteristics of Quantitative research deals with numbers and statistics, while qualitative research deals with words and meanings. She elaborated that Quantitative methods allow you to systematically measure variables and test hypotheses.
Then Keynote speaker Dr.prasoon Kumar Thakur (Researcher from Institute of Molecular Genetics, Czech Republic) elaborate the quantitative methods and hypothesis. He also discussed that why do we need to study qualitative and quantitative tools while doing research.
Dr Parsoon later on highlighted the difference between Qualitative Vs Quantitative Research Methodologies by giving various examples like quantitative data includes age, salary, height, shoe size, etc. whereas qualitative data are taste, smell, colour, etc.
At the end of the day valedictory session was there, and Dr. Neha and Dr. Tulika has given the Valedictory speech. The Conference convener Dr. Amita Singh, HOD Botany proposed the Vote of Thanks.
