Organising educational trips is a routine feature of every department at DPG Degree College. Recently in order to give practical exposure to the electronic media field, the Department of BAJMC (Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication) of the DPG Degree College an educational trip for students to Electronic Media Production Centre (EMPC) Gyan Darshan on 22nd November 2022. On this visit students of journalism and mass communication get to know about production pattern of EMPC.
Gyan Darshan (GD) channel is a major milestone in the field of Educational Television in India. It is a joint venture of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I & B Ministry), Prasar Bharati and IGNOU serving as the nodal agency. Launched in the year 2000, GD is a 24-hour educational channel which offers the best of educational programmes covering a variety of subjects and catering to a wide range of viewers. These include pre-school, primary, secondary and higher secondary students, college/university students, youth seeking career opportunities, homemakers and working professionals. The software is pooled from various educational Institutions and Development Organisations. GD conducts two hours of live interactive sessions every day to build interactivity in the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system. Teachers/Resource persons and IGNOU Regional Center functionaries interact for academic and administrative matters with students. Induction Programmes for new students and convocations for graduating students are also conducted live through Teleconferencing every year.
Students of our college also participated in G.D. Goenka “Acceleron fest 19” our students took part actively in various events as face-painting,treasure hunt,solo dance,rangoli,group dance,solo singing ,debate and paper dance. Varsha got second prize in face painting competition.Deepansha got award of popular face of GD goenka.
Students of our college participated in”’ Explorica” organized by C.P.S.M. College of education on 5th feb 2018 students took participation in various events as best out of waste,pot decoration,chalk board and handwriting, stand up comedy etc. Abhishek(B.Sc. CS Ist year) got 2nd prize in stand up comedy.
Students of our college from 1st yr of Computer Science , medical and non-medical participated in essay writing competition held in government college girls(sector14,Gurgaon) on 23rd October 18 and got the consolation prize.
Farewell party “ Hasta-la Vista” for the batch 2016-2019 was organized by the committee at college campus. Different venues were there for the Commerce, Science & Arts departments. Title of Mr & Miss farewell was given based on students performance on stage & behavior in class through out their course. For science dept. Mr & Ms Farewell title was given to Mr Apporba Das & Ms Rupali. Foe Commerce Dept: Mr & Ms Farewell title was given to Mr Deepanshu & Ms Priyanka Pandey. For Arts Dept: : Mr & Ms Farewell title was given to Mr Vishwas & Ms. Deepansha.
Annual function “ arpan” was organized by the cultural committee on 7th Feb. 2019, with the theme “Unity with Diversity” . Various cultural activities as Haryanvi dance, Gidda, Bhangra, Gujrati dance, Lazy dance ,skit etc. were presented by the students depicting the theme of the function. Haryana Finance Minister, Caption Abhimanyu, graced the function.
lohri function was organized in playground on 13th Jan. 2019. Function was celebrated with traditional songs & rewri ,peanuts & gajjak were distributed amongst staff.Vice Chairperson Sh. Deepak ji graced the function with his presence.
Diwali function for teaching & non teaching staff was organized in the conference hall of college on 6th Nov.19.Various fun activities, games were organized .Gifts & sweets were also distributed among the teaching & non teaching staff members.
Research & Extension Lecture committee has organized an extension lecture on the topic “How to write a research paper” delivered by Dr. Satish Arya (retired Dean Academics of Ch. Bansi Lal University) on 17th April 2019 at 11:30 A.M in DPG Degree College. All postgraduate students and faculty members attend that Lecture.
